Get started with Deckle.

Your licence key activates Deckle on up to 2 devices — so you can use it on your Windows PC and Mac at the same time. If you ever replace a machine, just email us and we'll sort it out.

Download the installer for your platform above and run it. On first launch, Deckle will ask for your licence key — paste it in and you're done.

On Windows: You may see a blue "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen screen. Click More info then Run anyway. This is completely normal for new software that hasn't yet built up a large install history with Microsoft — Deckle is safe to install. This warning will disappear as more people download it.

On macOS: Open the downloaded .dmg file. A window will appear showing the Deckle icon and your Applications folder — drag Deckle into Applications. Once copied, always launch Deckle from your Applications folder (not from the DMG). This is important: launching from Applications is what allows automatic updates to work correctly.

If macOS shows a warning that Deckle "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified", go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Deckle entry. You only need to do this once.

Once Deckle is open, you'll see a "Walk me through Deckle" button on the welcome screen. Click it for a guided tour of the app — it takes about five minutes and covers everything you need to start your first project.

Deckle checks for updates in the background. When one is ready, you'll see a prompt inside the app. All future updates are included in your one-time purchase — forever.

Your project is saved as a folder on your machine — you choose where when you create it. We recommend saving it to your Desktop for easy access. To open it later, just double-click the project folder. Back it up by copying the folder anywhere you like.
