What you're buying, what we promise, and what we ask of you. Written to be read, not to be waded through.
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use Deckle on up to two devices at a time, in any mix of Windows, Mac and Linux. Moving to a new machine is fine: deactivate the old one in Settings → Account and activate the new one.
Every feature in the app today, and every update we release afterwards. There is no version 2 upgrade fee, no subscription and no renewal. If we ever release a separate product, it will be exactly that: separate, and clearly named.
Everything you write in Deckle belongs to you. Your projects are ordinary folders on your own machine, and we have no access to them. We claim no rights over your manuscripts, and nothing you write is used to train anything.
Don't resell, sublicence or redistribute Deckle, share your licence key publicly, or try to defeat the licensing. Beyond that, write whatever you like.
Payments are handled by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record, who collect any tax due in your country and issue your receipt. Their name may appear on your statement beside ours. Prices can change for new purchases; what you already bought is unaffected.
Thirty days, no questions asked, with a 5% processing fee on orders of two or more licences. The full detail is on the refund policy page.
Deckle is provided as it is. We work hard to make export reliable and to keep your projects safe, but we can't guarantee the software is free of faults, or that it will suit every purpose. Keep backups of your work, as you would with any tool. Deckle backs up your projects automatically, and copies of that folder elsewhere are still a good idea.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
If we change them, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Changes are not retroactive.
